Quebec Judge gets "Frigid" Welcome to Nanaimo
Claude Dionne said "Oh La La" when he came to the trial site at Beban Park! No less than 18" of snow had fallen
overnight and this put a new meaning to the term "Spring Trial"!
On his way over to the trial site he had to get out of the vehicle transporting him, after it got stuck on a hill (read: slight
incline turning onto the Hwy), and shovel snow with a bucket before being able to resume his trip.
Joanie-Leigh Eliott fared a lot better. She found a Starbuck shop, complete with power, and was able to enjoy her "beans".
Thank goodness, the first run had been set the night before and the competitors were able to walk it ......... I mean, help us
collect the equipment to move it to the Agriplex building to set up for our trial "again". Meanwhile the judges revamped
their courses to fit the now smaller ring size on Joanie-Leigh's laptop, at times having to do a total rebuild. Competitors were
advised of the new location and starting time by email and arrived in time for the first run at 11:00am. The rest is history!
Thank you Joanie & Claude for some super courses and great flexibility in pulling this one off. You guys "Rock".
We would also like to thank all the people that stepped in to help us organize the venue change. We could not do it without
you all!
